 Lanai, once the largest pineapple
plantation in the world, it is the perfect island for who wish experience remote,
virtually undisturbed Hawaii. From sunny white sand beaches to rugged pine forests, the
island of Lanai has a primitive charm all of its own.
Lanais rural beauty and two world-class
resorts offer totally different kind of vacation. Snorkeling and scuba diving is the best
anywhere. Its marvelous four-wheel and hiking trails lead you to Hawaiian temples and
other wonders few people have yet discovered.
The rural village of Lanai City was the only
real development on the island till 1990, when the unique Lodge at Koele was opened in the
highlands with 36 holes of top rated PGA championship golf courses. The second resort to
be built was the Manele Bay Resort, a Mediterranean style property surrounded by lush
gardens and waterfalls. Overlooking the remarkable white sand beach Hulopoe bay and Manele
Bay.
